The Newton Mid-Kansas Symphony Orchestra presents their Winter Classics concert Sunday, Feb. 2 at 4 p.m. in Bethel College Memoria Hall. Guest conductor Richard Koshgarian leads the orchestra on an “Afternoon in Paris,” with Mozart’s “Paris” Symphony No. 31, and Claude Debussy’s “Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun.” Dwight Beckham Young Soloists performing are Newton High School student Gavin Hadley, on Haydn’s Piano Concerto in D Major, and Bethel College student Peter Buller on Vaughan Williams’ Concerto for Oboe and Strings. Come celebrate the birthday of the state we call home! Bring the whole family to Kauffman Museum on on January 25 for an afternoon of games, activities, music, crafts, a petting zoo and more.
Come out to NHS and see the best show in town, Donkey Ball! This is a fundraiser for the NHS prom. The games are Monday, January 27th in the NHS gym. Tickets can be purchased for $9 in advance, or $11 at the door. There will be coupons available at all NHS schools for free admission for 5 years old and younger with a paid admission. There will also be coupons for free donkey rides for the first 125 kids 12 and under during intermission. Gather your family, friends and fellow BINGO enthusiasts for an evening of thrilling games, fabulous prizes, and unforgettable memories at our Northridge community BINGO night. Thursday, January 30 from 6-7pm. Doors open at 5:30pm. Open to all ages, $5 to play.
Come support the Fine Arts and enjoy a delicious meal of pulled pork sandwiches, beans, chips and pie! Come celebrate Valentine's day with a meal already prepared for you! Food is available to take home or enjoy at the basketball game that evening. Food will be served in the Newton High School commons from 5-9pm Friday Feb. 14. Money raised will go to the Fine Arts programs for grades 5th-12th grade. Thank you for supporting our Fine Arts programs of band, choir, art, drama and orchestra!
